Laura Martinez
Manager of Environmental Justice Programs
Professional Experience: I have been working with Cultivando for over a year. Before working at Cultivando, I was an active community member volunteering at my children's school, serving at my local church and being a leader with Coloradans for the Common Good.
I was born and raised in Colorado and graduated high school from Adams City High School in Adams 14. I received my B.A. in Journalism from the University of Denver in 2007. Since then, I came back to my hometown to raise my children. This has been a great opportunity to maintain a connection with my community and seek ways in which I can support them in advocating for their own interests.
Why did I choose to work at Cultivando: I chose to work at Cultivando because I enjoy giving back to my community and here, I was able to do that in a greater capacity. I am also able to create new opportunities for my community to enjoy and have a better way of life.
Hidden Talent: One of the hidden talents that I have is that I love math and enjoy solving different kinds of math problems.
What I like to do when I am not working: When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family, enjoy nature and learn new things.
